Dr. Russ Quoted in SHRM Article on Pessimism

In a recent Pew Research Center study, about half of public K-12 teachers (52%) would not advise a young person starting out today to become a teacher. Most (77%) are stressed about their jobs, and more than nine-in-ten say poverty, chronic absenteeism, and anxiety and depression are problems for students at their school.  Other research centers are producing studies with similar findings in different industries beyond Education.

Pessimism, frustration, and fear are running rampant in these brave new workplaces. These feelings of uncomfortability have increased in a post-COVID and post-George Floyd….exponentially.  These findings reveal that employee wellness and engagement needs are beyond just EAP and cookie-cutter recognition apps.

Dr Russ shares his thoughts in this SHRM article, "Negativity in the Workplace."
